Tonk, July 26 -- A YouTuber allegedly kidnapped for ransom from Rajasthan's Tonk district was rescued following a high-alert police blockade in Kotputli-Behror district, officials said on Friday. Two accused have been arrested, while three others are absconding. According to police, Mahesh Gurjar was abducted from his studio in the Niwai police station area while he was sleeping with friends. The kidnappers allegedly forced him into a Scorpio SUV and planned to demand a ransom of Rs.20 lakh from his family. After receiving information about the abduction, Niwai police alerted their counterparts in Kotputli-Behror, triggering an immediate response. Acting on the directions of Superintendent of Police Satveer Singh, Sarund police set up a blockade on the Neemkathana State Highway. During the operation, the suspect vehicle was spotted near the Sarund toll plaza. When police signalled the SUV to stop, its occupants allegedly sped away, driving over a road divider in an attempt to escape. Police immediately alerted nearby checkpoints and traffic units through the wireless network. The Scorpio was eventually trapped in a traffic jam, forcing the accused to abandon the vehicle and flee on foot. A search of the SUV led to the safe rescue of Gurjar, who was found inside. Police said he had been assaulted during the abduction and sustained injuries to his head and other parts of his body.Police subsequently analysed CCTV footage from the toll plaza and nearby areas and used technical surveillance to identify the suspects. Two accused - Ashish Meena, son of Ramdayal, and Aditya, son of Hariom Meghwal, both residents of Sohela village under Baroni police station in Tonk district - were arrested. Police also recovered a country-made pistol and four live cartridges from their possession. The kidnapping case has been registered at Niwai police station in Tonk district. Joint teams of Kotputli-Behror and Tonk police are conducting raids to apprehend the remaining three accused....
