Ajmer/Bharatpur/Jaipur, July 22 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to heavy rain across the state over the next three days, amid heavy rainfall lashing the state on Tuesday. According to IMD, moderate to heavy rainfall occurred at isolated parts of Bharatpur, Jaipur and Ajmer divisions, while light to moderate showers were recorded in parts of the Jodhpur, Udaipur and Bikaner divisions. The Meteorological Centre in Jaipur said a cyclonic circulation is currently active over northeastern Rajasthan and adjoining areas, while the monsoon trough continues to pass through its normal position. These weather systems are expected to keep the monsoon active across most parts of the state for the next four to five days. The department has forecast widespread rainfall across the Kota, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions between July 22 and July 26. The fresh spell of rain has led to waterlogging in several districts, said officials. In Sikar, continuous rainfall inundated low-lying areas, prompting the district administration to install warning signboards at waterlogged locations to prevent accidents. Several parts of eastern Rajasthan also reported waterlogging after Tuesday's rainfall. In Dholpur, rain continued for the second consecutive day, inundating roads, residential colonies and agricultural fields. Residents in several localities faced difficulties venturing out as streets remained submerged. Bharatpur also witnessed persistent rainfall, with several colonies reporting waterlogging. Civic infrastructure issues aggravated the situation, as the City Flood Control Drainage (CFCD) project remains under construction and several drainage channels are blocked, restricting the smooth flow of rainwater.
