Jaipur, July 27 -- Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Sunday flagged off 144 new Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) buses from the Hira Pura Bus Terminal on Ajmer Road in Jaipur, stating that expanding public transport connectivity to every corner of Rajasthan is a top priority of the state government. Speaking to the reporters, Sharma said the double-engine government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was fulfilling its promises and working rapidly across all sectors related to public welfare. He said the state government has been continuously expanding public transport services to ensure safe, affordable and convenient travel for people across Rajasthan. "Our government's priority is to provide transport facilities to every corner of the state. The operation of these 144 new buses will significantly improve travel facilities for lakhs of passengers," Sharma said. The chief minister also said Rajasthan Roadways has moved from losses to a profitable position due to effective management and transparent governance. He added that the government has established financial discipline in the corporation, ensuring that roadways employees receive their salaries on time. Highlighting the importance of road safety, Sharma distributed helmets to women designated as road safety ambassadors and urged people to strictly follow traffic rules. He appealed to two-wheeler riders to wear helmets at all times, saying safe travel is the responsibility of every citizen and that public participation is essential to reducing road accidents across the state. The 144 new Blue Line Express buses have been allotted by RSRTC to 22 depots across the state. The operation of these buses will improve connectivity between various districts and provide passengers with the opportunity to travel in new and modern buses. All buses are BS-VI compliant and include mobile charging points, LED destination display boards, Electronic Control Units (ECU), and Vehicle Location Tracking Systems (VLTS)....
