Top court refuses to defer SI exam slated for Apr 5, 6
Jaipur, April 3 -- In a significant development concerning the Rajasthan Sub-Inspector/Platoon Commander Recruitment Examination 2025, the Supreme Court on Thursday declined to grant any stay or postponement of the examination scheduled for 5th and 6th April 2026.
A Bench comprising justice Dipankar Datta and justice Satish Chandra Sharma, while hearing the Miscellaneous Application arising out of SLP, refused to accept the prayer of the applicants seeking deferment of the examination.
"However, balancing equities, the court permitted the applicants as well as other similarly situated candidates to participate in the examination. Importantly, the Bench directed that the results of such candidates shall not be declared, making their participation strictly provisional and subject to further orders and the court further observed that it will not create any equity in their favour," said AAG Shiv Mangal Sharma.

Any deferment at this stage, it was argued, would cause significant disruption and prejudice to the larger public interest.
Taking note of the competing considerations, the Supreme Court declined to interfere with the scheduled examination process but granted limited protection to the applicants by allowing their participation without immediate declaration of results, said Sharma.
The matter assumes importance in light of the background litigation concerning the earlier 2021 recruitment process, which was marred by allegations of large-scale paper leaks, FIRs, and judicial scrutiny, leading to fresh recruitment notifications and ongoing appellate proceedings before the Rajasthan High Court....
