Thunder, rain likely across Raj next week
Jaipur, June 2 -- Rajasthan is expected to witness continued thunderstorm and rain activity over the next week, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting a fresh spell of strong winds and showers as another western disturbance becomes active from June 3.
According to the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur, thunderstorms accompanied by rain are likely to persist in several parts of the state during the coming days. Weather officials said a back-to-back western disturbance is expected to influence weather conditions on June 3 and 4, leading to an increase in storm and rainfall activity in parts of the Bikaner, Jaipur, Bharatpur and Ajmer divisions.
The department has warned that some areas may experience strong dust storms and gusty winds reaching speeds of 60-70 kmph, accompanied by rainfall.
The prolonged spell of rain and thunderstorms is expected to provide significant relief from the intense summer heat. Meteorologists said maximum temperatures are likely to remain below 45 degrees Celsius across most parts of Rajasthan over the next week.
