State to launch digital mental health campaign on October 10
Jaipur, Oct. 10 -- Talking to family and friends during periods of stress, listening to people experiencing emotional distress and seeking professional help when needed are key to promoting mental well-being, Rajasthan health minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar said ahead of a statewide digital mental health pledge campaign on October 10.
The campaign is part of a month-long mental health awareness drive being observed in Rajasthan from September 10 to October 10 to encourage people to speak openly about mental health and seek support without hesitation.
Khimsar urged residents to take the digital pledge on World Mental Health Day and encourage others to participate. He said mental health was an integral part of overall well-being and stressed the importance of supporting one another during difficult times.
Medical and health principal secretary Gayatri Rathore said mental health awareness required sustained efforts rather than a one-day campaign. Participation by schools, colleges, government departments, social organisations and the public could help widen the campaign's reach, she said.
People can take the pledge by scanning a QR code or visiting https://ihmslite.rajasthan.gov.in/manas on their mobile phones. Officials said participants could download a certificate after completing the process.
Awareness rallies, meetings and other activities are being organised in schools and colleges throughout the month. Students, young people, government employees and members of the public are also being encouraged to take the digital pledge.
Rathore said listening to people experiencing stress or emotional difficulties and offering support when needed were important steps towards building a more supportive environment....
