State drafts adventure tourism policy
Jaipur, Oct. 6 -- Rajasthan's Tourism Department has prepared an initial draft of an adventure tourism policy and is studying policies in other states while preparing an inventory of adventure tourism activities and destinations, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari said on Monday.
Kumari, who also holds the tourism, art and culture portfolio, reviewed departmental projects and schemes at Tourism Bhawan in Jaipur and directed officials to seek feedback from stakeholders and district collectors before finalising the policy.
She also stressed making the single-window clearance system more effective to provide investors time-bound approvals through a single platform. Officials were directed to ensure adequate safety measures at ropeways operating at religious and tourist destinations across the state.
The meeting also reviewed the Maharana Pratap Circuit, Amer Master Plan, heritage conservation, tourism infrastructure, digital initiatives, promotional campaigns and revival of Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation assets.
Kumari said work on budget announcements was progressing rapidly, with several projects ready for inauguration. She said higher tourist footfall during the three-day holiday period indicated a good tourism season.....
