Jaipur, July 17 -- The Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG) has secured the custody of a key accused arrested over a fake degree racket linked to the 2022 Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) Lecturer (hindi-school education) recruitment examination. A court has remanded Jodhpur resident Ashok Vishnoi alias Ashok Chotiya (32) to SOG custody until July 17. A total of 15 accused have been arrested in the case so far. ADGP (SOG) Vishal Bansal said the fraud came to light when a successful candidate submitted an MA (Hindi) degree purportedly issued by Mewar University in Chittorgarh district, as part of the appointment process. However,the RPSC found that the degree had never been issued by the University. Police alleged that Vishnoi arranged the fake degree with the assistance of Kaushal Kishore Chandrul, Dean of Mewar University. Ashok Vishnoi was arrested on July 13 as part of the investigation.
