Jaipur, Oct. 6 -- Rajasthan DGP Rajeev Kumar Sharma on Monday urged 438 newly trained women constables to treat the police uniform as a commitment to public service, as Batch-102 passed out from the Rajasthan Police Academy (RPA). Sharma said their training under the Union home ministry's new model syllabus focused on sensitivity and accountability. He urged them to learn the new criminal laws and use digital evidence to speed up investigations. Highlighting challenges including drug trafficking, drone smuggling, organised crime, fake news and deepfakes, Sharma said public trust remained the police force's biggest strength. He asked the new personnel to treat police stations as "service centres", hear complaints sensitively and prioritise women, senior citizens, persons with disabilities and the poor. Sharma also highlighted the growing role of women in policing, citing the Kalika Unit, and urged the constables to maintain fitness and uphold the Rajasthan Police's tradition of courage and public service. In a message to the trainees, Sharma said they should remember the pride and happiness visible on their families' faces whenever they felt discouraged, "Remembering this moment will give you the strength to overcome the difficulties on the path of duty."...
