Search intensified for ex-IAS officer linked to JJM 'scam'
Jaipur, March 6 -- The Rajasthan Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has intensified its search across six states for a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer on whose name a lookout notice was also issued in connection with the high profile Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) "scam", said officials.
DG of the ACB, Govind Gupta, said, "It's been more than 15 days that we issued a look-out notice against , Subodh Agrawal. But he could not be traced yet. We have formed at least 40 teams. They have been searching for him across six states including Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra."
According to the officials, the teams have so far conducted raid at over 100 places across 21 cities in those states.
"We have also questioned over 50 people during the raid including his friends, relatives, staff, and drivers... We have also gathered CCTV footages from their places and analysing them," said the officer.
On February 18, the ACB issued the LOC against Agrawal only a day after the arrests of 10 people during a search operation at the places of 15 officials across four states including in Rajasthan, Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand.
Agrawal is a 1988-batch IAS officer who retired on December 31 last year as the chairman of the Rajasthan Financial Corporation after the state government sanctioned his prosecution in the JJM scam on December 17.
The ED on November, 2023 also seized unaccounted cash around Rs.2.21 crore during a series of raids at the office and residences of Agrawal....
