Ajmer, April 10 -- A man allegedly broke into a jewellery shop in Ajmer district and fled with gold and silver ornaments worth approximately Rs.18 lakh from the locker, police said on Thursday. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed near the jewellery shop at Kayad Road under the Civil Lines police station area, police said. A case has been registered based on the complaint filed by Pawan Kumar Soni, police said. Soni said on April 8, when he returned to his shop after lunch at around 2.30pm, he found one side of the shutter partially lifted. Upon entering, he discovered that ornaments inside the locker were missing. The thief stole nearly 10 tolas of gold and about 700 grams of silver before escaping in his scooter, Soni said.
