RPSC employee held in '22 lecturer exam fraud
Jaipur, May 14 -- Rajasthan Police's Special Operations Group (SOG) arrested a Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) employee and the main accused in a dummy candidate and record manipulation scam tied to the 2022 Lecturer (History) Recruitment Examination, exposing deep flaws in the state's recruitment process.
Additional director general of police, SOG, Vishal Bansal said the probe revealed that Rajesh Kumar Meena arranged for a dummy candidate to take the exam on his behalf after deeming himself underprepared.
Police said Meena manipulated his admit card with computer editing tools, swapping his photograph for that of associate Ummed Singh, who appeared for the General Knowledge and History papers in October 2022. The dummy candidate forged signatures and used his own photo on attendance sheets to evade detection.
Investigators said Meena cleared the exam through fraud and secured a post as history lecturer in a government school. He later tried to tamper with original RPSC records, attempting to replace the dummy's photo with his own in official attendance documents.
The SOG found that RPSC udc Man Singh Meena demanded Rs.8 lakh to alter records, with Rs.2 lakh paid in advance. The employee conspired to swap photos in RPSC-maintained attendance records.
