Regularly monitor civic amenities: CM to DMs
JAIPUR, Aug. 19 -- Chief minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Tuesday directed district collectors to regularly monitor basic civic amenities, including cleanliness, drinking water, roads, street lighting and garbage collection, and take action against officials and contractors for negligence.
Chairing the eighth Raj Unnati meeting at the CM's Office, Sharma reviewed projects and ongoing works worth around Rs.60,000 crore. He said providing basic facilities and ensuring balanced development from villages to cities was among the government's top priorities.
With the monsoon bringing waterlogging, damaged roads, power disruptions and accidents, Sharma directed district administrations to address such problems with sensitivity and urgency. He said Rs.10 crore had been allocated to each municipal corporation, Rs.3 crore to each municipal council and Rs.1 crore to each municipality for road repairs and other essential works.
