Jaipur, Sept. 24 -- Tourists visiting Sawai Madhopur and Ranthambore will have access to a dedicated tourist helpline from October 1, with the district police launching the service ahead of the annual tourism season. Sawai Madhopur superintendent of police Jyeshtha Maitrey said tourists from across India and abroad can contact the helpline at 07462-251251 for assistance related to their visit, including information on reaching Sawai Madhopur, tourist destinations and other local arrangements. The helpline will also assist tourists in case of suspected fraud related to safari or hotel bookings, or other problems encountered during their visit. Maitrey said tourists can contact the helpline even before travelling to Sawai Madhopur if they need information or have queries about their visit. The police will provide necessary information and assistance, she said. The initiative comes ahead of the tourism season beginning October 1, when large numbers of visitors arrive in Sawai Madhopur for Ranthambore National Park and its tiger safaris. In a separate initiative, the district police will also make CUG and landline numbers of all police stations available to the public. People can contact the concerned police station between 9 am and 6 pm to seek updates on pending complaints or cases, contact the station house officer or investigating officer, or provide additional evidence related to a case. If they do not receive an appropriate response from the police station, they can approach the district police control room at 07462-222999.
