Ranthambore Tiger Safari gets costlier
Jaipur, April 2 -- A visit to Ranthambore National Park has become more expensive, with the forest department implementing a 10% increase in tiger safari charges.
The revised rates came into effect from the Wednesday morning safari shift, impacting both domestic and international tourists.
Officials said the hike is part of a policy decision taken in 2016, under which safari and entry fees are increased by 10% every year from April 1.
In Ranthambore National Park, Indian tourists will now pay Rs.215 per person, including eco-development charges, while foreign visitors will be charged Rs.1,575 per person. The fee for students has been fixed at Rs.65.
The annual revision has been consistently applied over the years, making safaris gradually costlier at one of India's premier tiger reserves.
A forest official said the revised tariff applies to both canter and gypsy safaris across categories.
For Indian tourists, the canter safari fee has increased from Rs.888 to Rs.986.63 per person, while foreign tourists will now pay Rs.2,399.63, up from the earlier Rs.2,176.10.
Similarly, gypsy safari charges for Indian visitors have risen from Rs.1,455.17 to Rs.1,611.80 per person. Foreign tourists opting for gypsy safaris will now have to pay Rs.3,024.80 per person, compared to the earlier Rs.2,743.17.
Vehicle charges in Ranthambore have also been revised, with buses priced at Rs.1,095, jeeps and cars at Rs.695, and e-rickshaws or two-wheelers at Rs.115.
Camera fees have also been increased, with Indian companies required to pay Rs.15,980 per day for documentary and film production and foreign companies Rs.24,200....
