Jaipur, July 4 -- Rajasthan is set to strengthen its ambitions of emerging as a global medical tourism destination by developing a dedicated Medical Value Travel (MVT) portal and mobile application, introducing multilingual helpline services for international patients and establishing a single-window clearance system for healthcare providers and investors under the Heal in Rajasthan Policy-2025. The state government recently said the initiative, launched under the leadership of chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, aims to position Rajasthan not only as a leading tourism destination but also as a preferred hub for affordable, high-quality healthcare by integrating medical services, tourism, investment and digital innovation. As part of the policy, the government is developing an MVT portal and a mobile application that will provide patients with treatment-related information on a single digital platform. The portal is expected to offer details on hospitals, medical specialities, doctors, treatment packages and travel assistance, making it easier for domestic and international patients to plan their medical visits. To improve patient experience, particularly for overseas visitors, the government will introduce multilingual helpline services to address language barriers and facilitate communication throughout the treatment process. Officials said digital healthcare services, including telemedicine, tele-consultation, digital diagnostics and online health services, will also be integrated into the platform to make healthcare more transparent, accessible and efficient. To facilitate implementation of the policy and encourage private investment, the government will establish a dedicated Medical Value Travel Cell and introduce a single-window system to provide faster and transparent approvals and services to healthcare providers and investors. An executive committee headed by the chief secretary and a technical committee chaired by the secretary, medical education, have been constituted to oversee implementation and monitor progress. Officials said Rajasthan already has a strong healthcare base with more than 8,000 hospitals, 46 medical colleges and 15 dental colleges, besides a growing network of multi-speciality and super-speciality hospitals. The state also plans to integrate traditional systems of medicine, including Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani and Siddha, with modern medical treatment to offer patients a comprehensive healthcare experience. The government believes Rajasthan's established tourism infrastructure, rich cultural heritage and historical attractions provide a unique advantage in attracting patients seeking treatment combined with leisure and wellness. Under the policy, visitors will be encouraged to combine medical treatment with tourism, helping boost both sectors simultaneously. The policy also focuses on attracting investment in healthcare infrastructure through incentives available under the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme, Industrial Development Policy and Tourism Policy. Officials said the initiative is expected to encourage the establishment of new hospitals and healthcare institutions while creating employment and self-employment opportunities for the state's youth....
