Jaipur, Aug. 27 -- Three state political leaders-MP Rajkumar Roat, Amra Ram, and LoP Tika Ram Jully-on Wednesday questioned whether a Supreme Court-appointed committee examining issues concerning the Aravallis adequately consulted mining-affected and tribal communities. The committee, constituted in connection with Suo Motu Writ Petition (Civil) No. 10 of 2025, will submit its report to the Supreme Court by August 31. It visited nine districts across Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan from August 6 to 11 and held public hearings in Gurugram, Alwar, Ajmer and Udaipur. Banswara MP Rajkumar Roat, Rajasthan Leader of Opposition Tika Ram Jully and MP Amra Ram have written to the committee, urging it to visit villages affected by mining and stone-crushing operations before finalising its report. Roat said the committee's reliance on email and Google Forms to collect representations excluded marginal farmers, cattle herders and forest-produce collectors with limited access to digital facilities. He alleged that a last-minute change in the timing of the Udaipur hearing prevented tribal residents from distant villages from attending.
