Rainfall likely to increase across five divisions till Sept 16: met dept
Jaipur, Sept. 12 -- Rainfall activity is likely to increase in several parts of Rajasthan from Friday, with the Meteorological Department forecasting a fresh spell of rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds in parts of the state over the next few days.
The weather department said a low-pressure area has formed over the Bay of Bengal adjoining south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh. The system is likely to gradually move westwards across central India in the coming days. The monsoon trough is currently passing through Sri Ganganagar, Jabalpur and the centre of the low-pressure area, the department said.
From September 11, parts of Bharatpur, Jaipur and Kota divisions are likely to witness a fresh spell of light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds.
The department has forecast an increase in rainfall activity across some more parts of the Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota, Udaipur and Ajmer divisions between September 12 and 16. Several areas are likely to receive rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning during this period.
On September 13 and 14, parts of the Kota and Udaipur divisions and adjoining areas may receive moderate to heavy rainfall at isolated places, according to the forecast. In western Rajasthan, some districts of the Bikaner and Jodhpur divisions are also likely to receive light to moderate rain at isolated places between September 13 and 16....
