Jaipur, March 18 -- The India Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert and special agromet advisory for Rajasthan, warning of thunderstorms, strong winds and rain between March 18 and 20 due to an active western disturbance. According to the department, a cyclonic circulation is likely to form over southwest Rajasthan and adjoining areas on March 18 under the influence of the western disturbance. Its impact is expected to bring thunderstorm activity, gusty winds of 40-50 kmph, rain and isolated hailstorms in parts of the state during this period. On March 18, districts in the Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions and the Shekhawati region are likely to witness light rain accompanied by thunder and gusty winds at isolated places, while the rest of the state is expected to remain largely dry. The impact is expected to intensify on March 19 and 20, with several parts of Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Udaipur and Kota divisions likely to experience thunderstorms, strong winds and rainfall.
