Jaipur, Sept. 4 -- Rajasthan Police's Cyber Crime Branch has issued an advisory warning people about botnet malware infections that can allow cybercriminals to steal sensitive personal and banking information through phishing links. The advisory said cyber fraudsters can infect mobile phones, computers and other devices with botnet malware by sending phishing links. Once a device is compromised, criminals may gain access to personal information, mobile applications and sensitive banking details, including net banking credentials, usernames and passwords, without the user's knowledge. Additional Director General of Police, Cyber Crime, VK Singh said Android users can use the eScan CERT-In Bot Removal App, developed in collaboration with the Government of India's Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The application is designed to detect and help remove malicious bots, malware, trojans and other cyber threats from Android devices.
