paramedical exam cheating racket busted, four held: Cops
Jaipur, June 30 -- Police on Monday arrested four people, including a college director, a head of department (HOD) and a lecturer, for an alleged attempt to facilitate mass cheating in a paramedical examination, officials said. According to police, the accused had allegedly struck a deal worth Rs.5.5 lakh to help 45 first-year students from a private college in Jhunjhunu clear their backlog examinations by allowing them to cheat at an examination centre in Jaipur.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Prashant Kiran said Khorabisal police arrested Krishna Kumar, HOD of S Karan College in Mukundgarh (Jhunjhunu), lecturer Shankar Lal Jat (27), and Ramakrishna Mandiwal, director of Prabha Devi Memorial PG College in Jaipur, along with his nephew Dev Krishna Mandiwal.
The conspiracy came to light after the police control room received information on June 27 alleging that money was being collected to leak the examination paper at the Kalwar Road-based college.
During interrogation, the accused allegedly admitted to collecting Rs.5.5 lakh from the students. Police said the investigation is on to identify individuals involved in the racket....
