Palaeolithic-era weapon found in Jhunjhunu
Bharatpur/Jhunjhunu, March 11 -- The Archaeology Department has discovered stone-made weapons dating back to the Palaeolithic age during an excavation in Jhunjhunu district.
The department's team is conducting excavations in Tyonda village under Khetri tehsil to explore evidence of an ancient civilisation in the area.
Apart from stone tools, the team also recovered the remains of a nearly 1,000-year-old temple and evidence of a stone-tool manufacturing site.
Dr Vinit Godhal, Superintendent of the Archaeology Department, said similar stone tools had earlier been found in the Didwana area in addition to Khetri....
