Official shunted after argument with MLA
Bharatpur, June 14 -- An executive officer of Bayana Municipality was suspended after an independent MLA alleged that she misbehaved during a meeting in Bharatpur district.
The incident took place on Friday when Ritu Banawat, independent MLA from Bayana constituency, reached the Bayana Municipality office to hold a meeting with officials regarding cleanliness in Bayana town.
According to officials, an argument broke out between Banawat and Bayana Municipality executive officer Anita Kumari over issues related to sanitation in the town.
During the argument between the MLA and the officer, Anita Kumari allegedly misbehaved with Banawat.
Banawat alleged: "The tender of cleanliness is being given continuously only for a contractor".
Juikar Pratik Chandrashekhar, director of the Directorate of Local Bodies (DLB), issued the suspension order for Kumari on Friday night, officials said.
Following the suspension, members of the Kushwaha community staged protests and burnt an effigy of the MLA in Saidpur village, alleging that the MLA had taken wrongful action....
