NGT allows CAQM impleadment in air quality case
Jaipur, March 21 -- The National Green Tribunal (NGT) Principal Bench has passed directions in an ongoing environmental matter, allowing the impleadment of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) and granting time to respondents to file their replies.
The bench, comprising Chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava and Expert Member Dr Afroz Ahmad, allowed an oral request by the applicant to implead CAQM as a respondent.
NGT took on record a reply by the MoEF&CC on March 17. It granted four weeks' time to other respondents - including the ministry of power, the Central Electricity Regulatory Authority, and Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh - to submit their responses. The applicant has also been given two weeks to file rejoinder to ministry's reply.
