Jaipur, Aug. 24 -- The Rajasthan government has ordered the construction of a new school building at a village in Jaipur's Bagru assembly constituency, with the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) describing the move as a major victory after its protests. According to an order issued on Saturday night, the work for the new school building at Rampura Kanwarpura village in Bagru is scheduled to begin on September 1, 2026 with Rs.18 lakh allocated for it. This comes after CJP workers were attacked by a group of people while visiting the dilapidated government school on Friday. The process for constructing the new school building has been initiated to provide students with a safe and improved learning environment, the order said. The development comes as the Rajasthan government announced a broader plan to overhaul infrastructure in government schools across the state. The Chief Minister's Office said that, on the directions of chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, a three-year roadmap involving an estimated expenditure of Rs.12,500 crore has been prepared to transform government schools into safe, well-equipped, modern, inclusive and technology-enabled learning centres. The roadmap, covering the financial years 2026-27 to 2028-29, seeks to address infrastructure requirements across all 41 districts. It proposes expenditure of around Rs.2,487.75 crore on 3,587 new school buildings, Rs.8,378.30 crore on 83,783 new classrooms, Rs.1,129.45 crore on major repairs at 22,589 schools and Rs.340.40 crore on 13,616 new toilet complexes. The CJP described the developments as a victory for its campaign. Party co-convener Ashutosh Ranka thanked CM Bhajan Lal Sharma following the order for the Rampura school. "Every drop of blood will bring a flood of revolution in this country," Ranka said. Reacting to the government's Rs.12,500-crore roadmap, Ranka termed it a "huge victory" for the CJP but said the party would closely monitor its implementation. "This is exactly what the Cockroaches wanted. Requesting the CM to please also prepare a roadmap of alternative arrangements for our students. They shouldn't be studying in cow shelters in the meantime". Ranka said the CJP would continue its "School Thik Karo" campaign until government schools across Rajasthan were repaired and upgraded. "Waiting for governments across the country to make similar announcements," he added....
