Jaipur, Sept. 12 -- A 43-year-old man allegedly killed his wife and three daughters by striking them on the head with a stone at their home in Jaipur before fleeing on Friday morning, police said. The incident took place at Govind Vatika under the Kardhani police station area. Deputy commissioner of police (West) Prashant Kiran said, "Police received information around 10 am that Rahul Jha had allegedly killed his wife, Geeta Jha, 40, and their daughters-Nandini, 22, and two minors aged 17 and 14-at their house." Geeta's body was found in a room on the first floor, while those of the three daughters were recovered from two rooms on the ground floor. Preliminary examination of the scene suggested that the victims were attacked while they were asleep, police said. However, Police are investigating whether the four were killed late Thursday night or early Friday morning. Investigators recovered a stone suspected to have been used in the killings. Given the gravity of the case, Jaipur Police Commissioner Sachin Mittal also rushed to the spot. According to police, Rahul purchased milk from a vendor around 7 am, prepared tea for his elderly father and subsequently fled. He allegedly switched off his mobile phone and left it at the house. Rahul's father, Laxmi Nath Jha, told police that he noticed blood in a room after coming out of the toilet. He raised an alarm and informed the neighbours. He claimed that he did not know how the incident occurred or who was present in the house at the time. Geeta operated a beauty parlour on the first floor of the house. Nandini was studying and also working at a private firm, while her younger sisters were students of Classes 12 and 8. Neighbours told police that Rahul worked in share trading and had returned from Gujarat three days before the incident. The bodies were shifted to the mortuary at Kanwatia Hospital for post-mortem examinations. Police said the autopsies would be conducted in the presence of Rahul's brother, Sanjay Kumar Jha. Police teams have been formed to trace Rahul, while the motive behind the killings remains under investigation....
