Man in Ajmer's top 10 most wanted list among 2 criminals held in Jaipur: Police
Ajmer, April 7 -- Two wanted repeat offenders, including a member of the Ajmer district;s top 10 mosted wanted criminals and absconding since 2010, were arrested in Jaipur district, police officers said on Monday.
According to an official release by the district police, the two men were identified as Shailendra Chaudhary and Santosh Prajapat. Chaudhary was carrying a reward of Rs.25,000, and was listed among the top 10 most wanted criminals in the district.
The operations were conducted under the supervision of assistant superintendent of police, Kishangarh City.
Acting on confidential information, a special police team traced Chaudhary's movements and conducted a coordinated operation near Jaipur.
Officers said that he was living under false identities and frequently shifting residences to escape the law.
Prajapat was wanted since 2020 in connection with a robbery case , said officers, adding that he was carrying a reward of Rs.7,500. Police teams tracked him to Jaipur district, where he was taken into custody following a targeted raid.
Senior police officers said both arrests demonstrate the department's commitment to maintaining law and order and bringing long-absconding offenders to justice.
The operations were executed by a joint team comprising local police personnel and the district special team, who worked extensively using intelligence inputs, field verification, and technical assistance.
Both accused have been produced before the court after completing legal formalities, officers aware of the matter told reporters.
They also confirmed that further interrogation is underway to gather information about the arrested men's criminal networks and possible involvement in other offences.
Ajmer police reiterated that the campaign against history-sheeters, reward criminals, and absconding offenders will continue with intensified efforts across the district....
