man dragged out of house, beaten to death
Jaipur, July 9 -- A 30-year-old gemstone worker was allegedly dragged out of his house and beaten to death by a group of assailants in Jaipur's Amer area, police said on Wednesday.
The victim, Wasim Khan, succumbed to his injuries late Tuesday while undergoing treatment, police said. According to family members of the deceased, Wasim, a resident of the Kaziwada area, was at home on Tuesday afternoon when around 10 to 15 men arrived at his residence, saying they wanted to speak with him. They allegedly forced him out of the house and began assaulting him.
Family members alleged that the attackers first beat Wasim near a mosque close to his house. They then dragged him to a nearby field, where the assault continued. The accused allegedly later took him to a farmhouse and assaulted him. At around 7 pm, they allegedly abandoned him near a medical store.
The victim's father, Ashraf, alleged that the same group had assaulted his son two to three days earlier. "Had police acted against the accused earlier, my son's life could have been saved".
DCP (North) Karan Sharma said a murder case has been registered based on the family's complaint. The FIR names Akhlaq, Mahir, Bablu, Ajju, Ishaan, Suka, Sohal, and several others as accused....
