Last rites of Agniveer killed in J&K conducted
Beawar, May 9 -- The mortal remains of Agniveer Yuvraj Singh Chauhan who laid down his life while fighting terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir reached his residence in Lagetkheda village in Beawar district on Friday morning with full military honours.
The body was brought in an Army vehicle to the Soldiers' Rest House at Dak Bungalow, where District Sainik Welfare Officer Colonel Manvendra Singh, ADM Brahmalal Jat, Tehsildar Hanut Singh, Deputy Rajesh Kasana and other officials paid floral tributes.
The procession began from Ajmer Road Peepalaj Toll Plaza with military honours. A large number of people joined and paid homage to the soldier. Social organisations, political representatives and citizens offered tributes along the route.
The procession went through rural areas and reached the soldier's native village Lagetkheda. After family members and villagers paid their last respects, the last rites were performed with full military honours in the presence of thousands of people.
Yuvraj Singh Chauhan had joined the Army as an Agniveer on February 17, 2022.
According to his father, Pratap Singh, Yuvraj had visited his village on leave on February 15, 2026, and returned to duty on March 19. He had informed his family that only four months of service were remaining and that he planned to prepare for the RAS examination after.
On the night of May 5, before leaving for duty, he made a phone call to his family. The family received information about his death from Army Headquarters on May 6....
