Jaipur, Aug. 4 -- One of Jaipur's most prominent tourist destinations, Jawahar Circle, is set for a major makeover with the development of a rose garden, a modern nursery and a state-of-the-art sports complex, officials said on Monday The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has floated tenders for the projects, which are being undertaken as part of the Rajasthan government's Hariyalo Rajasthan campaign. JDA Commissioner Siddharth Mahajan said a 4,000-square-metre rose garden will be developed at Jawahar Circle. The garden will feature 4,000 rose plants, including 3,000 grafted multi-coloured roses and 1,000 indigenous Ganganagar variety roses, and is expected to become a new attraction for both residents and tourists. A modern nursery will also be developed over another 4,000 square metres, where nearly 3,000 saplings representing 32 plant species will be planted. The nursery will include 2,000 ornamental plants and 1,000 fruit-bearing plants. The initiative aims to promote the conservation of quality plant species, expand the city's green cover and enhance urban biodiversity. Jawahar Circle will also get a state-of-the-art sports complex equipped with modern facilities for multiple sports. The complex is intended to provide better training and practice infrastructure for young and aspiring athletes while offering city residents a modern public space for fitness and recreational activities.
