Jaipur, Aug. 14 -- Heavy rain continued to affect several parts of Rajasthan on Thursday, with rainwater triggering streams in the hills of Jaisalmer and causing waterlogging in parts of the desert city. The Chundhi Ganesh Temple was nearly half-submerged in the rain-fed Kak River, while dirty drain water entered wards of Jawahir Hospital, causing inconvenience to patients. The Meteorological Department had issued a yellow alert for rain in all districts of Rajasthan for Thursday. More than five districts recorded heavy rainfall on Wednesday, with several parts of the state receiving between two and seven inches of rain. Udaipur, Ajmer, Karauli, Jaipur, Dungarpur, Bhilwara and Chittorgarh recorded significant rainfall, while some areas of Jodhpur in western Rajasthan also received heavy showers. Jaipur recorded more than one inch of rain. The rains also brought the Triveni River to life for the first time this monsoon season. The river, which feeds the Bisalpur Dam, rose above the three-metre mark. In Dholpur, the Chambal River was flowing close to the danger mark, with its water level rising by nearly 30 feet in a single day.
