Jaipur/Kota, May 13 -- Following the deaths of four women in two government hospitals in Kota within seven days, Rajasthan principal secretary for medical and health and medical education Gayatri Rathore on Tuesday carried out an extensive inspection of JK Lon Hospital and MBS Hospital, reviewing maternal and child healthcare services, treatment systems and medical arrangements. She warned that negligence in healthcare services would not be tolerated under any circumstances. Rathore said ensuring quality healthcare with sensitivity towards patients remains the state government's highest priority. During her visit, she directed doctors and hospital administrators to strengthen screening systems for pregnant women and newborns, stressing that early identification of complications can help prevent serious medical emergencies. She instructed medical teams to ensure special monitoring of high-risk pregnancies and make pre-natal and post-natal care more effective. "Treatment protocols must be followed strictly, especially in post-operative cases where doctors should monitor patients every hour," she told officials during a review meeting with medical officers from the Kota division. Inspecting the paediatric ward, Rathore interacted with children undergoing treatment and their families.
