Ajmer, May 13 -- The state Special Operations Group (SOG) on Monday arrested a Ghaziabad resident in connection with an alleged fake degree racket connected to Mewar University, police said on Tuesday. Investigators said the accused allegedly printed fake academic degrees press and supplied them to candidates. SOG Additional Superintendent of Police Shyamsundar Bishnoi stated that Pawar had been absconding for the past six months and kept changing location before he was detained. Investigators said they suspected that the racket's network extends beyond Rajasthan to Delhi-NCR and several other states. Further investigations are underway, they said. The accused was produced before a court in Ajmer, and remanded to 4-day police custody. The fraud came to light during verification of degrees submitted in the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) Lecturer Recruitment-2022 examination.
