Govt to set up health facility in every 10 km
Jaipur, Oct. 1 -- Rajasthan will establish new health sub-centres with the support of the Centre to provide primary healthcare facilities within 10 km of residents, particularly in rural and remote areas, health minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar has said.
Khimsar said the government was working to ensure that people have access to primary healthcare facilities close to their homes. "New sub-centres will be established with the cooperation of the Government of India to provide a sub-centre facility every 10 km," he said.
Her said appointments had been made to 50,000 posts across various cadres in the health department to strengthen healthcare services. He directed officials to ensure available manpower was deployed effectively where it was most needed.
Officials were asked to prepare plans based on geographical conditions, patient load, available facilities and local requirements rather than relying only on sanctioned posts. Particular attention should be given to ensuring doctors and trained nursing staff at trauma centres, facilities providing delivery services and remote health centres, Khimsar said.
The state is also focusing on mental health awareness, with Mental Health Month being observed from September 10 to October 10. A state-wide digital mental health pledge campaign will be held on October 10....
