govt orders 20k new household png connections by September end
Jaipur, July 22 -- The state government has asked City Gas Distribution (CGD) companies to issue 20,000 new domestic Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connections by the end of September, officials said.
Additional Chief Secretary (Mines and Petroleum) Aparna Arora issued the directive during a virtual review meeting with CGD companies on Tuesday. She asked the companies to focus not only on domestic consumers but also on connecting industrial units, commercial establishments and industrial clusters to the PNG network. She also urged CGD operators to introduce customer-centric incentive schemes.
Officials said 21,240 households were connected to domestic PNG services and natural gas supplied to 240 industrial and commercial establishments in the past two months.
Arora directed CGD companies to intensify awareness campaigns, organise outreach camps and coordinate with oil marketing companies in areas where PNG infrastructure has already been developed....
