Jaipur, Oct. 9 -- The state health department on Thursday launched Josh (Joint Squad for Health) teams on a pilot basis in seven districts to involve youth in campaign against tuberculosis. The drive was launched nationally by Union health minister JP Nadda in New Delhi, where he said active participation of society and youth was essential to achieving a TB-free India. First phase covers 55 districts across 11 states. In Rajasthan, the pilot was launched in Alwar, Baran, Banswara, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Rajsamand. District-level launches and orientation programmes were held in other districts. Under the initiative, each block-level Josh team will comprise five MY Bharat volunteers and five NCC cadets, led by a designated Class-I officer. The teams will spread awareness about TB symptoms, testing and treatment.
