Gehlot loves me like his son: Pilot
Bharatpur, June 12 -- Former Rajasthan deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot on Thursday said that former chief minister Ashok Gehlot loves him just as he loves his son, Vaibhav Gehlot, and stressed that all Congress leaders are working together to strengthen the party.
Addressing reporters in Dausa, Pilot referred to Gehlot's recent remarks and said, "Everyone has heard Ashok Gehlot's statement in which he said that he loves me like his son Vaibhav Gehlot."
Citing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's call to open a "mohabbat ki dukan" (shop of love) across the country, Pilot said party workers are striving to strengthen the Congress through unity, companionship and mutual respect.
"We are all workers of the Congress party and are trying to make the party stronger with love and togetherness," he said.
Targeting the BJP government in Rajasthan, Pilot alleged that it has lost the trust of the people and that BJP leaders are engaged in internal power struggles.
"The BJP government in the state has lost the confidence of the people, and its leaders are busy fighting to become the centre of power," he said.
He further accused the BJP government of ignoring farmers' interests and criticised CM Sharma's reported remark that farmers work only 20 days a year. "Such statements expose the anti-farmer mindset of the BJP government," Pilot said.
He also criticised the government for failing to conduct panchayat elections on time.
BJP Dausa president Laxmi Rela said, "The government is working for all sections of society and that there is no political infighting in the BJP."...
