Jaipur, May 6 -- Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has amassed a vast amount of resources so that they can dictate the survival of the governements formed by the opposition parties. "This is a battle of ideologies. It is no longer merely a matter of political parties, it is a matter of the India itself. India needs the Congress. The BJP has amassed such vast resources that it now dictates the survival and longevity of opposition governments," he said in a post on X. He added: "Having moved past the rhetoric of a 'Congress-free India,' they are now striving for an 'Opposition-free India.' Under the leadership of Shri Rahul Gandhi, the Congress will fight this ideological battle with strength and emerge victorious" In another post, he said, "CAPF armoured vehicles were deployed on the streets, voters were intimidated, money was openly distributed and names of millions of valid voters were deleted from the electoral rolls through SIR. What could be the bigger democratic crime than barring millions of Bengal residents to cast their votes in their homeland? This is a victory achieved solely through strength of power. The entire country is disappointed with the results in Bengal." Meanwhile, the Congress state chief Govind Singh Dotasra, also said that BJP won Bengal by misusing the power. "A massive conspiracy was hatched to win the elections through SIR for which notices were issued to over a crore of people. At least three million people's eligibility are yet to be decided by the tribunal but no decision was taken on it till the elections were conducted. This is a mockery of democracy, as these people have been put in the pending category, the entire country will have to discuss this with concern. This country has seen many elections after independence, but what happened in Bengal this time is unprecedented and condemnable." Further, he congratulated the Congress workers in Kerala for their victory in the state. "This victory is a victory for Kerala's secular ideology and the UDF's public welfare policies. The Congress-led UDF government will provide good governance in Kerala. The results elsewhere have been disappointing for us, but the Congress workers who worked hard even in difficult circumstances deserve a gratitude," he said. Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson, Ram Lal Sharma, said, "PM Narendra Modi is fulfilling the dreams of the BJP and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee one after another. PM Modi realised Mukherjee's dream of abolishing Article 370. This is the people's mandate. After the 15 years of anarchy, they decided to dethrone TMC. It was one of the most fair election in West Bengal so far as almost no violence also took place on the polling days."...
