FIR alleges plot to grab former Jodhpur Maharaja's properties
Jodhpur, Aug. 21 -- An FIR has been registered in Jodhpur over allegations that a power of attorney meant only for conducting court cases was allegedly misused to execute a series of forged agreements for the sale of properties belonging to former Maharaja Gaj Singh of Jodhpur, including large tracts of land in Jodhpur and Pali districts, police said on Thursday.

The complaint alleges that Dilip Singh was never authorised to sell any property belonging to Gaj Singh. However, the FIR alleges that several people, acting in collusion with Dilip Singh, prepared agreements for the sale of land by allegedly misusing the power of attorney. The agreements covered properties at Sardarsamand, Chandlai and Sobdawas in Pali district, as well as land in Jodhpur.
The FIR states that Gaj Singh neither gave any person a power of attorney to sell the properties nor sold them. It also alleges that the entire consideration in the disputed agreements was shown as having been paid in cash....
