Driver dies after truck overturns, catches fire on NH-21: Police
Bharatpur, March 4 -- A 30-year-old trailer truck driver died after his vehicle overturned and caught fire on a stretch of the National Highway-21 on Monday night in Bharatpur district, police said on Tuesday.
The driver, identified as Virdi Chandra Gurjar, was from Kardala village in Ajmer district, said police, adding that he was transporting coal from Jaipur to Agra, crossed the Saras intersection and was approaching a turn around 50 metres away from the intersection when his vehicle tipped over and caught fire, trapping him inside.
Bystanders and rescue authorities tried to rescue him from the fire but were unsuccessful, added police.
Mathura Gate police station in-charge Ramniwas Meena said that the body was sent for a post-mortem examination and the family members have been informed....
