Jaipur, June 25 -- Rajasthan Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra has hit back at Agriculture minister Kirodi Lal Meena after the minister accused relatives of Dotasra of obtaining fake certificates, escalating a political confrontation between the two leaders. Dotasra said that just as Meena had written a letter to the chief minister demanding a probe against him, the minister should write a similar letter seeking an investigation into corruption within his own department. Dotasra claimed that around 1,200 raids had been conducted in the name of fertilizer and seeds, and that a scam worth Rs.400-500 crore had taken place. He said if Meena truly considered himself "staunchly honest," he should write to the chief minister demanding a probe into this as well. On the fake certificate allegations, Dotasara said Meena was raking up a matter from 2021 that had already been cleared in a government inquiry, with no certificate found to be improperly issued under rules framed in 1999 that remain in force today. He alleged that Meena was reviving a five-year-old case simply because he had taken Dotasara's corruption allegations personally and was now looking for ways to discredit him. Dotasara said that if Meena was genuinely against corruption, the two of them should jointly fight it - but only after Meena first wrote to the chief minister seeking a probe into his own department. He added that if the 1,200 raids were investigated and any irregularity found, the guilty should be sent to jail - but if Meena was found honest, Dotasra himself would step forward to welcome him.Dotasra also raised questions over the removal of religious structures in Barmer, Jaisalmer and Khajuwala in Bikaner, near the Pakistan border. He said that while the Congress supported clearing the border areas for national security, targeting temples and mosques and issuing two-hour ultimatums for demolition without examining documents was not acceptable. Dotasara's charges comes a day after cabinet minister Dr Kirodi Lal Meena wrote to chief minister, demanding an FIR against Rajasthan Congress Committee (PCC) chief Govind Singh Dotasra and Dotasra's relative, retired district education officer Ramesh Chand Poonia, accusing them of using fraudulent OBC certificates to secure RAS (Rajasthan Administrative Service) selections for their children....
