Bharatpur/Deeg, April 2 -- A 45-year-old-man wanted for cow smuggling was injured after an exchange of fire with police in Deeg district, officials said on Wednesday. Deeg superintendent of police Sharan Gopinath K said that the arrested cow smuggler identified as Sarfu Mev, resident of Fatehpur under Pahari police station, was absconding. He had a reward of Rs.15,000 on his head. On being informed about his location, district special team of police and Gopalgarh police station teams conducted a raid on Tuesday night to arrest him, police said. According to police, his location was traced while he was going to Sikari town from Gopalgarh. He started to open fire at the cops from his motorcyle and tried to flee, police said. Officers also fired three rounds in response and he got bullet injuries in his leg, police said. According to police, he had 13 complaints for cow smuggling against him. Police said they recovered an illegal weapon with four live cartridges from his possession. He is undergoing treatment in Bharatpur district hospital, police said....
