Jaipur, June 28 -- A group of dairy farmers in Jaipur on Saturday announced the launch of "M-20 Movement" against the Centre's ethanol-blended petrol policy. Jaipur Dugdh Utpadak Sangharsh Samiti president Raman Yadav said the movement takes exception to the government's E20 policy, and likens the blended petrol to adulteration. "The name 'M-20' has been adopted symbolically by mixing milk and water, drawing a parallel with the government's policy of blending ethanol with petrol," he said at a press conference on Saturday. "As part of the protest, M-20 mixed milk would be sent symbolically to BJP ministers who support the ethanol blending policy," he said. Yadav alleged that the government, in the name of blending, was normalising adulteration. "The policy is affecting consumers, rural transport systems and agriculture, and dairy-based economies," he said.
