court allows 3 parties to join in Ajmer dargah temple claim case
Ajmer, May 9 -- The Court of the Additional Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate No. 2 after completion of arguments on 12 applications seeking to become parties in the case related to the claim of an ancient Shiva temple at Ajmer Dargah pronounced its order on Friday.
The court permitted Maharana Pratap Sena founder and president Rajyavardhan Singh Parmar to join the case as a party on behalf of the petitioner.
From the respondent side, both factions of the Khadims' organization Anjuman Committee and the Dargah Diwan have been allowed to become parties. The court imposed a Rs.30,000 fine on the remaining rejected pleas, observing they were filed for trivial publicity, advocate Pranav Som Saxena said.
The lawsuit was originally filed in September 2024 by Hindu Sena national president Vishnu Gupta, claiming the existence of a Shiva temple at Ajmer Dargah. The Central Minority Affairs Ministry, Dargah Committee, and the Archaeological Department were named as respondents in the case. During the initial hearings, several groups, including the Anjuman Committee and the Dargah Diwan, filed applications claiming themselves as stakeholders and seeking to be impleaded as parties.
