Jaipur, Oct. 17 -- Two men, including a hospital owner who allegedly studied only up to Class 8, were arrested by the Rajasthan Police's Special Operations Group (SOG) for allegedly obtaining medical registrations using forged qualifications. Police are also probing the possible involvement of former Rajasthan Medical Council (RMC) officials and employees. The accused are Pankaj Yadav, 30, from Sikar, and Nananji Ram Chaudhary, owner of Bhaskar Hospital in Raniwada, Jalore district. The case was registered at Jaipur's Ashok Nagar police station on October 6, 2024, following a complaint by RMC registrar Dr Giridhar Gopal. A preliminary inquiry found that several people had obtained registrations using forged documents, which were subsequently cancelled. The investigation was later transferred to the SOG. Police said Yadav studied medicine in Kazakhstan between 2013 and 2018 but failed to clear the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination despite multiple attempts. He allegedly submitted a fake MBBS degree and marksheet purportedly issued by Sri Krishna Medical College in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, along with forged Bihar Medical Council registration documents. Verification confirmed the documents were fake. He was arrested in Haryana's Kaithal. Chaudhary allegedly submitted forged qualifications, including Class 10 and 12 marksheets, an MBBS degree purportedly issued by Rama University in Kanpur, a gynaecology diploma and Maharashtra Medical Council registration documents. Police said he had studied only up to Class 8. According to investigators, Chaudhary worked at a private clinic before joining Rajdev Hospital in 2014, purchasing it in 2015 and renaming it Bhaskar Hospital in 2016. SOG ADG Vishal Bansal said both accused were produced before a court and remanded in police custody for questioning.
