CM meets PM Modi in Delhi, discusses development works
Jaipur, March 26 -- Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Wednesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, where the two leaders held discussions on the state's overall development, progress of welfare schemes, and future growth plans.
During the meeting, Sharma briefed the Prime Minister on key initiatives aimed at achieving holistic development in Rajasthan, according to a statement.
He highlighted that, in line with the Prime Minister's vision, the state has made a budgetary provision exceeding Rs.6 lakh crore for 2026-27 to accelerate growth and infrastructure development.
The chief minister said Rajasthan's economic indicators have shown improvement, with per capita income crossing Rs.2 lakh.
The fiscal deficit has been reduced from 4.34% to 3.69%, while the state's revenue receipts have reached Rs.3.25 lakh crore, he said.
Sharma also informed that Rajasthan currently ranks first in 13 national schemes, second in five, and third in six, reflecting its performance in governance and implementation. He added that the state government has introduced innovative initiatives under the RITI initiative Rajasthan, including the "Mukhyamantri Viksit Gram" and "Viksit Ward" campaigns.
The chief minister expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for extending the timeline of the Jal Jeevan Mission and for approving key infrastructure projects, including expressways and road developments. He also updated him on the progress of major projects such as the HPCL Refinery Rajasthan, Ram Jal Setu Link, Yamuna water supply, and the Ferozepur feeder under the Indira Gandhi Canal Project, along with the supply of LPG, diesel, and petrol.
Expressing confidence, Sharma said that with the Prime Minister's guidance, the vision of a "Developed Rajasthan" would be achieved in a time-bound manner.
