CM launches pulse polio drive, 10.4 mn kids to be immunised
Jaipur, June 29 -- Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Sunday launched the National Pulse Polio Campaign in Rajasthan by administering polio drops to children at the Chief Minister's residence. Around 10.4 million children below the age of five will be vaccinated across the state over the next three days.
The campaign began with vaccination at 59,217 booths across Rajasthan on Sunday, followed by door-to-door visits by health teams over the next two days.
A total of 75,232 teams, including 7,011 transit teams and 9,040 mobile teams, have been deployed for the drive.
Sharma directed the medical and health department to ensure that no eligible child is left out of the campaign. He also unveiled the campaign poster carrying the slogan, "Two drops every time, we win over polio."
Appealing to parents, chief minister Sharma said that timely administration of polio drops is the only effective way to prevent the disease and urged them to ensure that all children below five years receive the vaccine.htc...
