Jaipur, March 25 -- Rajasthan chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Tuesday said that "dharma is essential in politics as well as in all walks of life," asserting that no work can be carried out effectively in the absence of moral and spiritual values.
Addressing the concluding ceremony of the Shri Lalita Mahayagya in Balotra, the chief minister said that adherence to dharma leads to success and helps in building an ideal society and nation. He added that the Sanatan tradition inspires people to move forward with social unity while staying rooted in values.
Describing Rajasthan as a land of valour, faith and devotion, Sharma said the blessings of saints have contributed to a cultural resurgence of Sanatan traditions in the state. He noted that such religious events strengthen social harmony and connect future generations with their cultural heritage.
Highlighting the importance of Balotra, the chief minister said its religious sites stand as custodians of India's rich cultural legacy, while the sacred land of Kanana Math radiates spiritual energy.
Calling service to faith the "highest form of public service," Sharma said the state government is prioritising the development of pilgrimage centres.
He highlighted initiatives like the senior citizen pilgrimage scheme, which facilitates free travel for the elderly, and efforts under the Mukhyamantri Viksit Gram and Ward Yojana to develop religious sites in a planned manner....
