Jaipur, Nov. 5 -- A Class 8 student was found dead in Talkatora Lake on Wednesday morning, hours after her family reported her missing in Jaipur, police said, adding that they are investigating the circumstances of her death. The family initially told police that the girl had been upset over her exam results. "Initially, the family told us she was a Class 8 student and was upset because of low marks. She spoke to her mother on Tuesday night and then went to sleep. When her mother woke up around 4 am, the girl was missing," Manak Chowk police station officer Rakesh Khyalia said. The girl had left her home in the Nahargarh police station area on Wednesday morning, Khyalia said. Residents found her body in Talkatora Lake around 7.30 am and informed the police control room. "We took custody of the body and sent it to the mortuary. The girl's slippers and other belongings were found nearby," he said, adding that there were no visible external injuries and that the body was released without a post-mortem at the family's request.htc...
