BJP relies on a formula of vote theft, says Chib
Jaipur, Oct. 27 -- Youth Congress national president Uday Bhanu Chib on Monday said that BJP believes it can form governments without the support of young voters by relying on " a formula for vote theft".
Chib was in Jaipur to mobilise support for the INDIA Bloc's proposed November 1 rally against alleged vote theft at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. Speaking to reporters, he said the state Youth Congress had set a target of sending 5,000 workers to the national capital.
Leading a march from Shaheed Smarak to the state Congress headquarters under a 'Delhi Chalo' banner, Chib later reviewed preparations with elected Youth Congress office-bearers and urged them to ensure maximum participation.
"The BJP believes that even if young people do not vote for it, it can form the government by stealing votes through (Chief Election Commissioner) Gyanesh Kumar. It has a formula for vote theft," he alleged.
Chib said the alleged manipulation of votes concerned every citizen and the integrity of the electoral process and was not a single political party's issue.
Referring to the BJP's uproar over Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge's recent response to a heckler at an event in Delhi, wherein he threw a jibe at PM Narendra Modi, he said the BJP was trying to divert attention from the campaign for electoral integrity and alleged that the party could not tolerate a Dalit leader heading the Congress.
The BJP's Ekta Agarwal said the Congress should respect the Election Commission and present evidence if it had any proof of electoral malpractice....
